Tasting Session No. 3

Moving on form Restaurant and Dhaba, today I am going to review about newly opened Q33 Cafe.

RESTAURANT 3:

NAME - Q33

LOCATION - Quest Mall, Park Circus

SEATING - Casual

MY ORDER - Q33 Platter. (Assorted breads served with hummus, muhhammara, cream cheese relish) and Caramel Llato.

Price for 2 - Rs. 800 A.I (2 Coffee and a starter), Overpriced.

TASTE :
Q33 PLATTER - Hummus served was Brilliant. Haven't had such a dip in long long time, had enough flavours of the mashed chickpea, olive oil and tahini.
Muhhammara was quite a surprise for lebanese platter, haven't seen other places serving the same. Coming to the taste it was bit tangy and had a distinctive flavour.
Cream Cheese was good but Sour cream would have moved along better with the platter.

CARAMEL LLATO - It was nothing much but cold coffee served with some chocolate sauce and caramel syrup. (Not Recommended).

CONCEPT - Bold effort taken by bringing in the European mall cafe concept in India specially Kolkata, where seating is between the pathways.
Despite of the brilliant effort taken, everyone walking by have their eyes on your plate and it becomes quite awkward.

RATING - 3/5

Will I Visit Again - No

The New in, in Kolkata series continues.

As you guys know I am working on a project "The new in, in Kolkata" Surprise your Stomach. Indulging myself in major food tasting activities in the city.
Therefore, a lot of my coming Posts will be talking about my experience and reviews of different restaurants / cafe / dhaba etc.

Note - Will be visiting only newer places that has opened in a year's time. will try and cover most of the places in my every visit.

I have already reviewed my first restaurant "Cafe Mezzuna" located in Forum mall, Elgin Road in my page (linkhere) due to some technical issue, will be reviewing further places via Blog.

So here we go:

Restaurant 2.

NAME- Balle Balle Dhaba.

LOCATION - Salt lake.

SEATING - Casual.

SERVICES - Table service, Takeaway, Outdoor Catering.

My Order - Dal Makhani, Chicken Tikka,Chicken Reshmi butter masala and Assorted Breads.

Price for 2 - Rs. 700 plus taxes (without alcohol).

DECOR - Quirky. The place is full of paintings and pictures of punjabi celebrities like Daler Mehandi, Sunny Deol, Yuvraj Singh etc. And famous punjabi movies like Veer Zara and Patiala House.

TASTE - A full Punjabi Funjabi Meal. Chicken tikka was distinctively soft and flavourful, the other ordered food like dal makhani, reshmi butter masala and the breads gave the palate a craving for the next bite but nothing uniquely special, it's an addition to the cities other famous food joints like - Azad Hind Dhaba, Sharma's Dhaba and Jai hind Dhaba, with similar taste, menu and pricing.
Nevertheless, makes your tummy happy enough.

My Rating - 4 / 5

Will I Visit Again? - Yes!!!

Other Attractions -

1) The name itself "Balle Balle Dhaba". With the price and taste it has to offer you actually are in complete Balle Balle mode.

2) The Menu designing is quite fun. Their titles to different courses are super quirk to read. My favourite is - "Haan ji phone pe kuch order shoder".

3) Open till 2 a.m, so it's perfect to halt place after crazy dancing and drinking session.

Menu with fun Captions.

SUMMARY - Absolute value for money you pay and the place is worth the visit. Also, Parking space is available.

So let's do some Balle Balle.

That is all from my desk today. Until then keep reading and sharing your love.
Also, don't forget to put on your colourful Rainboots and carry your Umberallas. Happy Monsoon.

Love,
Pen Twister.
